Cal Poly Humboldt Day returns on Jan. 26, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Arcata Theatre Lounge, celebrating the fourth anniversary of the University’s transition to a polytechnic.

“Cal Poly Humboldt Day is all about celebrating our people and the incredible momentum of this University,” says Sara Novak, assistant director of Alumni Relations. “Four years into our polytechnic journey, it’s exciting to come together with alumni, students, families, and the community to mark this milestone with music, joy, and shared Humboldt pride.”

Alumni, students, faculty, staff, friends, families, and the community are invited to a free, family-friendly student benefit concert. The evening will spotlight the University’s creative spirit and strong community ties, featuring live performances by local bands, including Rad Bromance from 5–6 p.m., Cadillac Ranch from 6–7:30 p.m., and Hyperion from 8–9 p.m. Each band is performing in support of student programming, including Ballet Folklorico de Humboldt, the Extended Ed-Humboldt Music Academy Fund, and the Alfred Pilz Endowment. Members of the Arcata Chamber of Commerce will also be in attendance, raising donations for fire relief efforts.

The first 350 attendees will receive exclusive Cal Poly Humboldt swag, and drinks and concessions will be available for purchase.

Cal Poly Humboldt—California’s third polytechnic university and the first in Northern California—has embraced its polytechnic identity through hands-on learning, applied research, and new programs aligned with sustainability and workforce needs, all rooted in equity and community engagement. Cal Poly Humboldt Day is a chance to celebrate how far the University has come and the people who make it thrive.
