Fretwell, a 37-year radio executive, is an experienced leader focused on community-driven programming and service, team-building, and organizational culture. At The Classical Network, Fretwell oversaw six public stations in two states. He managed the network’s strategy, finance, and legal issues, and integrated the network into college licensee’s educational and community missions.
Fretwell is also the co-author of "Lessons From the Hanoi Hilton," a book exploring the experiences of Americans held captive in Vietnam and identifying principles from the POW organizational culture that can be used to develop high-performance teams.
Fretwell holds an MBA from Amberton University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Organizational Management from John Brown University. He has been published in the New York Times and has won awards for reporting on financial and economic issues.
Fretwell expects to start April 1.
