Congressional Internship Open to HSU Students

A California think tank offers Humboldt State University students a one-semester internship program with the U.S. House of Representatives, September-December 2010.

The Panetta Institute for Public Policy, a bipartisan study center, fully funds the program. Student benefits include fees, food and housing, a stipend and academic materials for the two-week program at CSU Monterey Bay. The Institute also funds travel, housing and a stipend for the interns’ time in Washington, D.C.

The internship is open to undergraduates in their junior and senior years or in graduate standing when the program begins in September at Monterey. During the two-week orientation, professionals share their experience and insights with students and teach the intern orientation course. Interns are then assigned for two and a half months to the Capitol Hill office of a member of the California delegation to the House.
