The series is part of the Library’s Lifelong Learning Lounge (L4Humboldt), which welcomes everyone to participate in events, activities, and workshops through August 11.
The first week kicks off with Twisted Stitches, a weekly gathering each Monday for anyone interested in knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, macrame, and chatting with others. On Tuesdays, people of all skill levels can attend the Still Life Drawing course—all supplies for the session are provided. There will also be workshops on Macrame Plant Hanger Knotting Techniques, and lesson planning. Wacky Sock Wednesdays invites the community to wear their wacky socks, join a networking session, and meet new people. Other events will include a DJing workshop and a weekly Drupal Drop-in, where participants can learn and share tips and tricks about the web content management system over coffee and donuts.
“This summer programming brings together people from the campus and local community and centers on personal and professional growth, enabling facilitators and participants to explore professional and personal interests together,” says Garrett Purchio, College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences librarian.
“Our theme of building and connecting communities speaks to why L4Humboldt matters,“ he adds.
Other events throughout the L4 series include outdoor reading sessions, movie trivia, and an opportunity to learn about the Library 3D Digital Interactive Herbarium project. Check the L4 calendar of events for more information, including the locations and times of individual activities.
