“We appreciate the UAW’s approach to bargaining during this round of negotiations which concluded in a fair agreement representing the best interests of both parties,” said Gail Brooks, CSU’s vice chancellor of Human Resources. “Agreement on a multi-year contract with UAW is a signal that a measure of stability is finally returning to the system and allows us to plan beyond the immediate fiscal year.”
Highlights from the agreement include:
A 1.34 percent salary increase for Teaching Associates and Graduate Assistants for fiscal year 2013-14 that is retroactive to July 1, 2013.
A $1 per hour increase in hourly rates for Instructional Student Assistants for fiscal year 2013-14 that is retroactive to July 1, 2013.
A two percent salary increase for Teaching Associates and Graduate Assistants for fiscal year 2014-15 effective July 1, 2014 and a two percent salary increase for fiscal year 2015-16 effective July 1, 2015.
A $.50 per hour increase in hourly rates for Instructional Student Assistants for fiscal year 2014-15 effective July 1, 2014 and a $.50 per hour increase in hourly rates for fiscal year 2015-16 effective July 1, 2015.
Funding for salary increases in the second and third of the contract is contingent on CSU receiving at least the level of funding consistent with the governor’s multi-year funding plan expressed in the enacted 2013-14 state budget.
