Winners will give updates on their businesses and share tips on starting a successful business. “Our Economic Fuel winners are collegiate entrepreneurs who know how to use their education and available college resources to bring new businesses to our community” said Kathy Miller, competition coordinator.
2008 Grand Prize Winner Brandon Hemenway will be Master of Ceremonies at the launch, introducing this year’s competition theme: “Great Things About Being a College Entrepreneur”. During the Entrepreneur Mixer, from 7:30 – 8:30, aspiring entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with advisors from the business community and faculty advisors from CR and HSU.
There will also be a Business Book Swap table set up at the event. Donate or swap your gently used, well used, dog-eared, and highlighted business books. To donate books, bring them to the launch or call 476-2628 before the event.
Economic Fuel is dedicated to ushering in the next generation of successful entrepreneurs, awarding over $100,000 in seed capital each spring to jump-start new business ventures in Humboldt County.
