The annual Fall Preview event gives prospective students a chance to see what campus life is like.
Cal Poly Humboldt will welcome 630 prospective students and their families to the annual Fall Preview on Saturday, Nov. 2.

Fall Preview is a one-day, in-person open house event for new and transfer students to explore campus, academic programs, student life, and University resources. It’s also an opportunity for them to see first-hand the stunning surroundings and living lab that is on the North Coast.

"The University’s in-person Fall Preview is an exciting opportunity for prospective students and their families to learn more about Cal Poly Humboldt directly from our staff, faculty, and current students. This event offers in-depth information about what Cal Poly Humboldt has to offer and what we can do to help students transition to our beautiful campus,” says Visit Experience Coordinator Sulaina Banks.

Kick-off begins at 9 a.m. with a welcome from Vice President of Enrollment Management & Student Success Chrissy Holliday and Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Jenn Capps followed by a series of interactive workshops, including panels inviting prospective first-year and transfer students to ask current students any burning questions they might have about campus life.

Fall Preview panels and workshops will include the Academic & Student Support Resources Fair where prospective students can meet faculty from various departments and support program representatives. Prospective students will have the opportunity to ask current students about campus life, from the best places to eat to the greatest study spots and beyond during the Student Panel. The University will also host an Admissions & Financial Aid session, where professional staff from the Admissions and Financial Aid Offices will walk through the admissions process and explore the financial aid application process, from scholarships and grants to opportunities. Additionally, students hoping to know if they have been accepted into Cal Poly Humboldt will be able to find out with On the Spot Admissions.

“We can’t wait to showcase Humboldt, and I believe everyone will discover incredible value in the engaging workshops and activities planned for the day,” Banks says.
