About 2,500 graduates and credential recipients crossed the stage May 12 when Humboldt State University held its 2007 Commencement ceremonies, bringing some 15,000 attendees to Redwood Bowl.

Following a tradition begun in 1975, HSU held a separate graduation ceremony for each academic college.

Ms. Margaret Davidson, Executive Director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Coastal Services Center, was the Commencement keynoter. She told her audiences, "If all the collected wisdom and efforts of the great people in this academic community can balance the challenges of protecting the abundance of resources that surrounds us here at Humboldt with ensuring a productive future for the people [who] make up this community, then Humboldt--its faculty, students and you as new graduates--will serve as a beacon for the country, showing that we truly can find balance during times of change."

DVDs of each ceremony are produced by Humboldt State University. For information about ordering a DVD, or for further details, visit www.humboldt.edu/~grad or call 707/826-5155.
