HSU students are making it easier for you to go green. The Humboldt State chapter of PowerSave Green Campus recently launched a blog with news, events and tips on how to be environmentally conscious.
The new blog — at powersavehsu.com/blog — is designed for HSU students, faculty and staff. Recent entries include a post on “smart” power strips, tips for reducing your monthly heating bill and ways to calculate your carbon footprint.
PowerSave Campus is a statewide program of the Alliance to Save Energy. The student-run initiative promotes green careers, sustainability and environmental awareness.
HSU’s chapter of PowerSave Green Campus was founded in 2004 and received the 2005 and 2007 UC/CSU Best Practices Award for Student-led Energy Efficiency Programs and the 2007 CSU Office of the Chancellor’s Energy Project Competition.
