Humboldt State University is preparing a business plan to confirm the costs and financial viability of additional and replacement student housing to accommodate enrollment over the next several years.
Robert C. Schulz, Associate Vice President for Facilities Management, said a 400 bed living facility with associated convenience goods and snack style food service would help the residential HSU campus, one of the oldest California State University campuses, to meet the needs of its students.
Schulz said one possible site for the new housing is existing campus property on the east side of the Arcata campus, identified in the university's master plan for future enrollment.
Other possibilities include the acquisition of facilities off the main campus, he added.
