HSU Combats Sexualized Violence

Arcata – Humboldt State University’s annual expose of sexualized violence resumes April 12-18 with a series of campus rallies and activities comprising “Take Back the Night,” coordinated by the HSU Women’s Resource Center.

Take Back the Night spotlights widespread sexualized violence against women and provides opportunities for survivors to speak out against their distress and unite in demanding awareness and reform. Those who have been targets will march and rally in mutual support of healthy and healing attitudes and community betterment. A separate forum will address the experiences and concerns of male survivors.

Details are available from Take Back the Night Coordinators Amanda Barker (alb65@humboldt.edu), Megan Hamlin (mjh66@humboldt.edu) and Jesse Urban (jlu5@humboldt.edu), or dial the Women’s Resource Center at 826-4216. Volunteers are welcome.
