Humboldt State University will not be affected by Pacific Gas & Electric’s scheduled 22-hour shutdown of power starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, while crews upgrade a substation.
The company estimates more than 6,000 customers in Arcata and McKinleyville will be without power until approximately noon on Sunday, but HSU’s Plant Operations advises that the campus will be shifted temporarily to a different circuit and power will be maintained.
