In a July 14th letter, WASC’s accrediting commission, headquartered in Alameda, Calif., said, “Humboldt State has undergone a remarkable transformation in a relatively short period of time, and this transformation speaks well for the entire campus community.”
The commission cited the university’s progress toward its goals in learning outcomes, inclusiveness, cultural reform and the realignment of resources with educational programs. It urged the campus to sustain the advances and requested a routine interim update at the end of 2013.
In a July 22nd letter to the campus community, President Rollin Richmond said the reaccreditation review had been useful and had set an excellent agenda for the years immediately ahead. “I am confident we can achieve the goals the WASC has set for us,” he said, “and continue to provide outstanding educational opportunities for the people of California and beyond.”
