For two days, the art students and several studio art clubs will sell paintings, photography, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, prints, and mixed-media creations. Proceeds will support student and visiting artists, campus clubs and the gallery exhibition program. “This event is an opportunity for students to share their creative endeavors with the community and to work together to support the clubs and events which aid their success in the arts program at HSU," says Gallery Director Michele McCall-Wallace. "In addition, they learn about marketing their work and sharing it with a larger audience.”
Students enrolled in HSU’s Museum and Gallery Practices class produce the annual fair. Students learn about gallery and museum management by installing and presenting a variety of gallery exhibitions and community events. The Fall Art and Artisans Fair provides experience in event planning and event management production, as well as creating a free community event which supports the work of fellow art students.
The Reese Bullen Gallery is located in the HSU Art Building directly across from the Van Duzer Theatre. For more information, contact the gallery office at (707) 826-5814 or rbg@humboldt.edu.
