HSU’s Brown Lectures at Sequoia Park Zoo

Humboldt State University Wildlife professor Rick Brown will discuss “Emerging Diseases and the One World/One Health Concept” on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. in the Sequoia Park Zoo’s classroom in the Secrets of the Forest Building.

A reception will be held 30 minutes prior to Brown’s talk, which centers on issues that link human, domestic animal, wildlife and environmental health. These include diseases that humans contract from animals like West-Nile encephalitis and Lyme disease. Brown, a consulting veterinarian with the zoo for more than 10 years, specializes in disease ecology. His lecture is the third of free monthly talks comprising Sequoia Park’s new conservation lecture series.
