The event will include a declaration signing, guest speakers and discussions related to the environment and climate change. Participants will begin marching at 1:30 p.m. to show solidarity with the Sept. 21 People’s Climate March in New York City.
Dubbed “the largest climate march in history,” the New York event has spurred more than 2,000 solidarity events in 150 countries. Organizers are hoping to pressure world leaders to take immediate action on the environment before the U.N. summit on climate change Sept. 23.
