New Faculty Awarded Grants

The Cal Poly Humboldt Emeritus and Retired Faculty & Staff Association (ERFSA) Executive Committee is pleased to announce this year’s recipients of ERFSA Small Grants.

Justin Luong, Assistant Professor of Forestry, Fire & Rangeland Management Department was awarded a grant for assessing solar panel grid impacts on coastal prairies to guide regenerative agrivoltaics.

Christa L. Meingast, Assistant Professor from the School of Engineering, was awarded a grant for a soil remediation study in distributed environments.

Silvia E Pavan, Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences, was awarded a grant for presenting research, with students, at the 2024 Meeting of the American Society of Mammologists.

Rachael M. Wade, Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences, was awarded a grant for studying ecologically driven morphological plasticity in coralline algae.

ERFSA, The Retired Faculty and Staff Association seeks proposals for innovative projects from new faculty and staff within the first five years of their employment at Cal Poly Humboldt to promote their careers. A reception will honor this year’s award recipients on Tuesday, May 7, at the Plaza Grill.
