Cal Poly Humboldt will welcome hundreds of prospective students and their families to the annual Fall Preview on Friday, Oct. 24.

Fall Preview is a one-day, in-person open house event for incoming first-time and transfer students to explore campus, academic programs, student life, and University resources. It’s also an opportunity for them to experience first-hand the stunning surroundings and living lab that is on the North Coast.

“Fall Preview is more than just a visit—it’s a chance for students to envision their potential future. When students step onto our campus, surrounded by redwoods and community, they begin to see what’s possible for themselves at Cal Poly Humboldt. We can’t wait to welcome them, show them the incredible opportunities that await, and help them imagine the difference they can make in the world,” says Chrissy Holliday, vice president of Enrollment Management & Student Success.

Kick-off begins Friday morning with a welcome from Holliday and Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Jenn Capps, followed by a series of interactive workshops, including panels inviting prospective first-year and transfer students to ask current students any questions they might have about campus life.

The Fall Preview will feature panels and workshops, including the Academic & Student Support Resources Fair. At this fair, prospective students will have the chance to meet faculty members from various departments, as well as representatives from support programs.

During the Student Panel, prospective students can ask current students about campus life, including recommendations for the best places to eat, study spots, and more. Additionally, the Club Fair will highlight all the clubs available for students to join.

During the Faculty Panel, prospective students will connect with Cal Poly Humboldt Faculty and discover what it takes to thrive as a student here. They’ll gain insider tips on how to get involved, stay engaged in their program, and make the most of their academic journey.

Prospective students with questions about Admissions or the status of their application can meet one-on-one with an admissions staff member. This meeting will provide answers, guidance, and support tailored to their needs during the Meet with Admissions activity. They’ll also have help with the Cal State Application process.
