Longtime friends and music partners Daniela Mineva and Wenqing Bouche-Pillon will come together for a four-hands, two-pianos concert-extravaganza consisting of a wide range of styles on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Fulkerson Recital Hall.

The recital will feature a number of pieces. Dedicated to the composer's niece, Summer Dreams by Amy Beach is a suite of six pieces featuring poetic quotations at the head of each piece.

The famous Mozart sonata K. 545 in C major arranged for two pianos by Grieg will thrill transcription-fanciers. When Grieg added an accompaniment for a second piano to Mozart’s keyboard sonata, the resulting composition was fun and full of surprises.

Ligetti's five pieces for four hands presents the composer’s crucial encounter with American Minimalism, as well as with Nancarrow’s player-piano studies.

Piazzola's Libertango and Verano Poteño are break from the classic tango genre. The music of the two arrangements is masterful and evocative and the heat and passion carried through it breathe life into the dance.

Concert tickets are $15 general, $5 children, and $5 for Cal Poly Humboldt students with ID. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at centerarts.humboldt.edu, including tickets to a paid livestream for $7.
