The 5-day camp gives children ages 6 to 12 the opportunity to learn about and explore local marine habitats, organisms, and Trinidad history. Sessions run July 20-24 (6 to 9 years of age) and August 3-7 (10 to 12 years of age), from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Classes are held in the “wet” classroom of HSU’s Marine Lab in Trinidad, and include games, crafts, and short field trips. Each session will also include a tide-pooling day where kids will explore local beaches and rocky intertidal zones.

The cost of attending an entire session is $175; single-day attendance is $50.

To register, visit humboldt.edu/marinelab. Completed registration forms can be e-mailed to marnat@humboldt.edu, mailed to P.O. Box 690, Trinidad, CA 95570 or faxed to (707) 826-3682. Forms can also be picked up at the Telonicher Marine Lab, 570 Ewing Street in Trinidad.
