REVISIT, the conclusion of the art faculty exhibition series, follows the NOW exhibit that featured current Art Department faculty and staff at the HSU First Street Gallery and the Reese Bullen Gallery THEN exhibition of art by the founding faculty that began teaching at HSU between 1914 and 1966. REVISIT fills in the time period between these two previous exhibitions while continuing to demonstrate the variety and evolution of the visual arts and art instruction at HSU.

Gallery Director Michele McCall-Wallace noted, “Many of the artists in the exhibit taught at HSU for over 25 years and are fondly remembered in their role as teachers, colleagues and members of our community. It is great to have their art here, to see what they are doing now, and to provide an opportunity for our current students to see the work of our previous faculty.” The exhibit includes artworks by 27 artists who taught in the areas of drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, gallery and museum studies, jewelry, ceramics, and printmaking during a time of expansion and growth of the Art Department at Humboldt State University. “The most exciting part about REVISIT is seeing the past artists’ works and how strong it was back then and how it has led to our art department today, which continues to be strong and expand,” remarked Teresa Stanley, current Art Department Chairperson.

The Reese Bullen Gallery is located in the Humboldt State University Art Building at the intersection of B Street and Laurel in Arcata.
