Humboldt State University’s Science A building has reopened after test samples showed the building’s interior free of asbestos fibers.
The building was closed May 25 as a precaution while air samples were taken in a fourth floor room where a suspected release occurred. The room was cleaned after samples registered positive. Post-cleanup tests of the room were negative, as were subsequent tests June 3 of the building as a whole.
The accidental release occurred during remodeling of a lab demonstration bench.
