During Spring Preview, students and their families can explore departments, engage with faculty and students, and experience life as a Lumberjack.
Cal Poly Humboldt will host its annual Spring Preview on Saturday, March 29, and April 19, welcoming prospective students and their families to campus. This informational event provides prospective students with a firsthand look at university life, academic opportunities, and the vibrant Lumberjack community.

“Spring Preview is more than just a campus visit—it’s a chance for students to envision themselves as part of the Lumberjack community. From meeting future professors to exploring student life, this event helps them see what makes Cal Poly Humboldt a unique and welcoming place to learn, grow, and thrive,” says Sulaina Banks, Visit Experience Coordinator in the Office of Admissions.

Spring Preview is designed for both first-year and transfer students to explore Humboldt’s academic programs, engage with faculty and staff, and connect with current students. Through a series of interactive sessions, campus tours, and informational workshops, attendees will gain insight into the University’s culture and resources. An extension of Spring Preview is Preview Plus. Designed to help admitted students with limited resources visit Humboldt for a weekend, the University pays for transportation and meals and makes all the arrangements.

Spring Preview Highlights:

  • Campus, Housing, and Library Tours—Students can tour the campus to learn about our history and fun facts, as well as the library and residence halls to see where they will learn and live.
  • Humboldt Connect Fair—Students can meet faculty from every academic department to learn about hands-on opportunities and hear directly from staff from our student support programs.
  • Academic  Sessions—An opportunity to engage with professors and delve deeper into academic programs.
  • Campus Resource Open Houses—Students can get one-on-one support from Financial Aid, Academic Advising, Housing, and more.
  • Mixer & Games—Prospective students can join other prospective students in a fun mixer and games with our student clubs, with a Family Mixer for families to connect with each other and Humboldt representatives.
