LUMBERJACKS START OFF CCAA SEASON WITH LAST MINUTE LOSS AT NO. 25 SONOMA STATE

Humboldt State’s women’s soccer team started their conference season with a 2-1 loss at No. 25 Sonoma State this past Friday afternoon. Lindsay Stoner scored her second goal of the season on a penalty kick to tie the match for HSU. Katelin Talbert recorded 10 saves in goal for the match for HSU. Humboldt State is now 1-3-2 overall and 0-1 in the CCAA.

MEN’S SOCCER’S WINNING STREAK SNAPPED

The Lumberjacks had their three-game winning streak snapped in a 4-2 loss at Sonoma State this past Friday afternoon. Isaiah Dairo and Gus Baxter each scored goal for the ‘Jacks while Robert Quintero had seven saves in goal for HSU. With the loss, HSU fell to 4-2 overall and 0-1 in the CCAA.

VOLLEYBALL STARTS OFF THREE-MATCH ROAD TRIP WITH FOUR-SET LOSS AT SONOMA STATE

Humboldt State’s volleyball team started their three-match road trip with a four-set loss (14-25, 25-20, 20-25, 15-25) at Sonoma State this past Saturday afternoon. HSU, who is now 5-6 overall and 1-3 in the CCAA, was led by Lenox Loving’s 11 kills while Hannah Cantrell added eight and Odelia Ryan had 21 digs.

LUMBERJACK BASKETBALL TIP-OFF DINNER SET FOR OCTOBER 8

The 2019 Humboldt State Lumberjack Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tip-Off Dinner is set for October 8 at Baywood Golf & Country Club in Arcata, Calif. This will be a chance for family, friends and supporters of the Lumberjack Basketball Teams to come and meet your 2019-20 HSU Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams. Social hour for this year’s Tip-Off Dinner is from 6-7pm with dinner to follow. Price is $25.00 and you can reserve your spot by going to http://www.hsujacks.com/hoopsdinner

LUMBERJACK MADNESS ON OCTOBER 14

Monday, October 14 at 7pm in Lumberjack Arena, the Department of Athletics will be hosting Lumberjack Madness. This will be a chance for you to meet the 2019-20 Humboldt State Lumberjack Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams. There will also be chances for Lumberjack fans to win some prizes.

LINDSAY STONER AND KATELIN TALBERT ARE THIS WEEK’S HSU LUMBERJACK STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Humboldt State women’s soccer players Lindsay Stoner and Katelin Talbert are this week’s Lumberjack Student-Athletes of the Week.

Stoner scored her second goal of the season on a penalty kick in HSU’s 2-1 last minute loss at No. 25 Sonoma State this past Friday afternoon. The senior midfielder has started in all six games for the ‘Jacks this season. Stoner’s first goal of the season was a game-winner in HSU’s 4-0 win over William Jessup on September 21.

Talbert posted 10 saves in HSU’s 2-1 loss at No. 25 Sonoma State this past Friday. For the season, Talbert has a 1.24 goals against average with two shutouts and 31 saves. The senior goalkeeper has a .795 saves percentage.
