The main presentation will feature National Geographic photographer Michael “Nick” Nichols and Explorer-in-Residence J. Michael Fay. The two played leading roles in developing the October National Geographic cover story about the redwoods. Their talk will be at 8 p.m. in the Van Duzer Theatre.
Given the strong interest and limited seating, a free ticket is required to attend. Tickets are available on a first-come first-serve basis from the Alumni Relations Office in Siemens Hall 215, starting at 8:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 25. A reserved number has been set aside for HSU faculty, students and staff (HSU ID required). Each person may pick up a maximum of two tickets.
Tickets are also available for the talks and discussions that are part of a “Redwood Summit” the afternoon of Oct. 3. There will be presentations by National Geographic Explorer J. Michael Fay as well as HSU Professor Stephen Sillett, a pioneering redwood researcher whose work is highlighted in the National Geographic cover story. There will also be a panel discussion among redwood experts, moderated by Ruskin Hartley, Executive Director of Save the Redwoods League.
Tickets to the Redwood Summit afternoon talks are available only to HSU faculty, students and staff. They are available on a first-come first-serve basis from the Alumni Relations Office in Siemens Hall 215, starting at 8:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 25.
