University Community Invited to Help Shape the Future

What can the Humboldt State community achieve over the course of the next five years? What successes will we expand upon? What new initiatives should be implemented? What areas should be changed?

Those questions and others are being discussed as Humboldt State considers its future through the Strategic Planning process.

Now, the groups involved in this effort are seeking help to determine the university’s direction. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to offer input and inspiration during three informal brainstorming workshops scheduled on Friday, Feb. 13.

To foster clear, honest input, workshops will focus on key topics, with participants working in small groups of five to address ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, and participants can attend as many or few sessions as they prefer. Attendees are welcome to stay for all three workshops, select specific sessions, or even drop in for shorter periods, if necessary.

All sessions will be held in The Great Hall, located above the College Creek Marketplace. Workshop topics include:
*8 to 10:30 a.m – Ensuring Resources to Fulfill the University’s Mission
*11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Supporting an Inclusive & Diverse Community
*2:30 to 5 p.m. – Increasing Student Success & Academic Excellence

More information about the strategic plan is available at the strategic planning website at humboldt.edu/strategicplan. Walk-ins are welcome, but interested staff and faculty are encouraged to sign up online in advance to help with ordering refreshments.
