Humboldt State is ranked as the 12th top public school in the west, and tied for 30th out of 126 public and private schools in the region, according to the 2022 Best Colleges annual ranking by U.S. News & World Report.

U.S. News & World Report examined 17 measures of academic quality of 1,466 bachelor’s degree-granting institutions in the country. Academic quality is assessed under several categories: graduation and retention, graduation rate performance, graduate indebtedness, social mobility, faculty resources, expert opinion, financial resources, student excellence, and alumni giving.
HSU was recently named one of the 127 best colleges in the West, according to the Princeton Review.
