Proposal Restores $97.6 Million to CSU

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s May revision of the State budget restored $97.6 million to the California State University, reducing the $386 million gap in state funding initially anticipated for the 2008-09 CSU budget.

Arcata - The Humboldt State University Police Department released today a composite sketch of a male suspect in connection with an acquaintance rape that reportedly occurred in an outdoor area between Sunset Hall and the Jolly Giant Commons at about 3:00 a.m. Sunday, May 11, 2008.

HSU, County Weigh Charges Against 3 Students

Arcata — The Humboldt State University Police Department, the HSU Administration and the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office are reviewing administrative sanctions and criminal charges against three HSU students in connection with three cardboard boxes placed around campus, one of which bore the threat, “I will destroy your city.”

Humboldt State University Responds To Possible Threats

Arcata — Humboldt State University's police department responded to the discovery of three cardboard boxes, one of which carried an explicit threat, near the Science B, Art and Natural Resources and Sciences buildings. There were no injuries and the boxes, after being examined by Humboldt County Sheriff bomb technicians, were found to contain nothing dangerous.

Write-in Wins AS Presidency

Sofia Pereira, the lone presidential write-in candidate, prevailed in the third and final round of this year’s protracted Associated Students presidential contest, eclipsing Luke Ferrari 350 votes to 247.

Commencement Set For May 17

HSU Students Donate Meal Points To Food Drive

Students at Humboldt State University have the opportunity between now and April 25 to donate a portion of their meal points as part of a regional food drive organized by the HSU Service Learning Center. Donated meal points will be used to purchase food from the school’s vendor, and these relief food supplies will be delivered directly to Food for People, the Food Bank for Humboldt County.
