Humboldt State students are familiar with web-based classes, but now the parents and other family members of students have an online class all their own.

Humboldt State University has been named a top University in the West by the U.S. News & World Report.

With the start of the fall semester, HSU is revitalizing the Learning Center in the University Library, creating a centralized hub of tutoring with longer hours and more services for students seeking academic support.

Crowned the nation’s “outdoorsiest” university last year, Humboldt State is set to defend its title in the fourth annual Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge, which runs Sept. 18 through Oct. 15.

The HSU Department of Mathematics welcomes Dr. Ken Ono, the Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Mathematics at Emory University, to deliver the 70th semi-annual Harry S. Kieval Lecture on Tuesday, September 12.

As a former Green Diamond Resource Company wildlife biologist and Humboldt State professor, Lowell Diller made important contributions to forest and wildlife management in Northern California during his lifetime.

Humboldt State was ranked No. 39 out of 632 master’s degree-granting universities by the national College Guide published recently by Washington Monthly magazine.

A Humboldt State University program that helps local high school students enroll and succeed in higher education has been notified it will receive a grant of $1.3 million over five years from the Department of Education.

In an effort to address diversity and inclusion in the community, City of Arcata officials, Humboldt State community members, and representatives of local businesses and nonprofits have come together to develop concrete plans for making Arcata a safer and more welcoming environment.

More than 1,700 graduates celebrated their big moment with family, friends, faculty, and staff on Saturday, May 13.

HSU students took home first and second place awards at the 31st Annual California State University Student Research Competition at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
