Fall Graduates Honored at Annual Grad Fair

Humboldt State University will host its annual Fall Graduate Fair for students graduating in fall 2014 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 in the Great Hall, above the College Creek Marketplace.

Ensembles Combine for HSU Holiday Concert

Schubert’s Magnificat, Corelli’s Christmas Concerto and sacred music of the season highlight a combined holiday concert by the Humboldt Symphony, University Singers and Humboldt Chorale on Friday, Dec. 12, and Sunday, Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. in Fulkerson Recital Hall.

Fall Art and Artisans Fair: HSU Student Artwork Sale at the Reese Bullen Gallery

Humboldt State University’s Reese Bullen Gallery presents the annual Fall Art and Artisans Fair December 10 from 3 to 6 p.m. and December 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the gallery. The free event will feature paintings, photography, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, prints, and mixed media creations for sale from HSU art students and studio art clubs.

University Community Holiday Celebration December 4

Humboldt State will host its annual holiday gathering for faculty and staff Thursday, December 4 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Kate Buchanan Room. There will be appetizers, desserts, beverages, and an opportunity to connect with colleagues.

HSU Madrigal Singers in costume jump-start the holiday season with their traditional program of madrigals and English folk songs, plus the Mad River Transit Singers perform jazz, be-bop and blues with a four piece backing band at 8 p.m. Sunday, December 7 in Fulkerson Recital Hall at HSU.

Riding the Range with HSU Symphonic Band

The HSU Symphonic Band rides the range with John Williams’ movie music for “The Cowboys,” plus music based on English and Korean folk melodies, and three works featuring some unusual percussion at 8 p.m. Friday, December 5 in Fulkerson Recital Hall on the HSU campus.

Love, Revolution and the End of History at HSU

Inspired by earth-shaking happenings of 1989 now being recalled in the media 25 years later, HSU students are creating a multi-media event, “The End of History,” in Gist Hall Theatre for two weekends beginning Thursday, December 4.

CR and HSU Present International Latino Film Festival in 2015

College of the Redwoods and Humboldt State University are offering a 1 unit class to coincide with the International Latino Film Festival happening in the spring 2015 semester. The festival will be held on March 3, 4 and 5 from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Minor Theatre in Arcata. There will be two pre and post festival workshops for students registered in the class.
