HSU Mathematics Department Announces Winners of 26th Annual Mu Alpha Theta Contest

This spring the Mu Alpha Theta (Mathematics) Contest continued with its format that included a section of shorter problems along with a section of more challenging problems. Students worked on the examination for three hours on a Saturday morning, April 17th. As in the past there are two categories distinguishing more advanced (B category) mathematics students who have completed more than one upper division mathematics course from beginning (A Category) mathematics students who have not completed more than one upper division mathematics course. The contest was organized and judged this year by Professors Jeff Haag and Martin Flashman of the HSU Mathematics Department.

Book Showcases Historic HSU Photos

A new book by alumna Katy Tahja offers a fun and quirky photographic tour through HSU’s nearly 100-year history. Titled simply “Humboldt State University,” it contains more than 200 archival photos. Many have never previously been published.

Humboldt State University Police arrested a 19-year-old Humboldt State University freshman Friday night for an acquaintance rape that allegedly took place in the early morning of Sunday, April 19. The incident reportedly occurred in the campus residence halls.
