Humboldt State University’s 2018 ideaFest features research and projects from HSU students and faculty on Thursday, April 19, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the University Library. The event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served.

Humboldt State’s student-run bilingual newspaper, _El Leñador_, will be celebrating its five-year anniversary on Thursday, April 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Kate Buchanan Room at Humboldt State University. The free event is open to the campus and community.

Owls as Pest Control? Researchers Hope To Find out

Barn owls, with their big, mottled brown wings and distinctive white faces, can be spotted all over Northern California’s wine country. Attentive travelers may spot the owl boxes that dot vineyards, simple nests that ranchers and farmers put up to invite the owls to their land.

Donate Meal Plan Points, Help Other Students

At the end of each semester, some students find they have extra meal plan points that they haven’t used to purchase food on campus. Now, those points can be put to good use: helping other students.
