Tom Jackson, Jr. Appointed President of Humboldt State University

The following was provided by the CSU Chancellor’s Office: The California State University (CSU) Board of Trustees has appointed Tom Jackson, Jr., Ed.D., to serve as president of Humboldt State University (HSU). Jackson currently serves as president of Black Hills State University (BHSU) in Spearfish, South Dakota.

Therapy Dogs and Other Ways to get through Finals Week

Humboldt State is providing resources for students during finals week. Students can stop by the MultiCultural Center all week for Finals Food, and relieve some tension with Therapy Dogs at the Library. The furry friends from Therapy Dogs International will be in the Library lobby on Tuesday, May 14 at 1:30 p.m.

Eclectic Mix of Music in HSU Graduation Recital

Graduating seniors from the HSU Department of Music present the 2019 Graduation Recital, a brand new event envisioned by a group of music students for the enjoyment of their families, friends, and the entire Humboldt County community, on Friday, May 17 at 4 p.m. in Fulkerson Recital Hall. Admission is free.

The League of American Bicyclists recognized Humboldt State with a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) award, earning it a place alongside 1,266 bike-forward businesses and organizations across the country committed to building a more Bicycle Friendly America.

2018-19 Outstanding Faculty Honored

Since 1964, Humboldt State has honored outstanding faculty. John O. Reiss, Department of Biological Sciences, Susan E. Marshall, Department of Forestry & Wildland Resources, Nicole Jean Hill, Department of Art, and Justus D. Ortega, Department of Kinesiology & Recreation Administration, are the recipients of the 2018-19 Distinguished Faculty Awards.
