The College of the Redwoods and Humboldt State University formalized a longstanding partnership on Friday, with the overall goal of making the path to a four-year degree seamless for students who transfer.

Humboldt State University has once again received recertification for its contribution to the study of fire ecology. HSU joins only eight other universities in the country in receiving the AFE certification for contributing to the field of fire ecology.

The Humboldt State University debate team left their mark this fall by facing off with the most competitive debate teams in the country in a trio of key tournaments. The result was one of the best beginnings to a competitive season in recent memory.

Humboldt State student voting was up in last year’s election, increasing to 41.9% in 2018 from a rate of 12.9% in 2014. College student voting doubled nationwide, according to a national study.

Humboldt State University will join thousands of college campuses across the nation in the First-Generation College Celebration on Friday, Nov. 8, 12:30-3 p.m. in the Kate Buchanan Room (KBR).

Efforts large and small saw Humboldt State University through the latest round of PG&E power shutdowns--an event that caused plenty of angst as classes were canceled for three days and regular work was put on hold due to closure of campus.

Humboldt State’s Fourth Annual Zero Waste Conference will feature a week of food, workshops, speakers, documentaries, and more, seeking to “Rethink, Reshape, Reclaim Systems for a Waste Revolution.”
