Playoffs Coming to Redwood Bowl

For the first time since 1968, Humboldt State football is advancing to the postseason. And the Lumberjacks will begin their playoff journey in Redwood Bowl.

Lumberjacks Head Into Postseason

No. 12 Humboldt State football ended its regular season with a 29-13 win over arch rival Western Oregon. The victory clinched the Lumberjacks a spot in the NCAA Division II Playoffs and will likely ensure a home playoff game on Saturday, Nov. 21.

HSU Cycling Wins Conference Championship

HSU Cycling became the Western Collegiate Cycling Conference Mountain Bike champion Nov. 17, beating all Division I and II teams in the overall standings.

University Opens New Wellness Center Feb. 22

Humboldt State University President Rollin Richmond and other university leaders will officiate at ribbon cutting ceremonies for the new student Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC), located in what was previously called the Forbes Complex, on Friday, Feb. 22 at 3:30 p.m. The public and press are invited.

HSU Student Athletes Earn CCAA Honors

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. — After both races in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Div. II Rowing Championships were completed, there wasn't a dry eye in the Humboldt State party as tears of joy fell for the Jacks' first-ever National Championship.

Cycling Wraps Up Weekend Home Race

HSU Cycling Team raced proudly on its home turf this weekend. Hayley Umayam stole the show, winning Sunday’s campus criterium one day after winning the 30-mile road race in the Women’s B category.

Bringing Slackline to the Super Bowl Spotlight

On Tuesday, Andy Lewis (’08, Recreation Administration) was base-jumping from the Fisher Towers rock formations in Utah, at altitudes of more than 500 feet. Just two days earlier, the adrenaline-junkie was in Indianapolis, Ind., showing off his sport and sharing the stage with pop-icon Madonna at the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show.

HSU Opens Expanded Student Recreation Center

Humboldt State University has opened a new and expanded workout area, the Student Recreation Center West, to provide additional program space and exercise equipment for students and the campus community.

HSU to Go Green at Football Game against Western Oregon

The Humboldt State University Athletics Department and the Sustainability Office are aiming for big reductions in waste as part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) “Game Day Challenge” on Saturday, Nov. 12, when the Lumberjacks host Western Oregon University at Redwood Bowl. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
