A damaged natural gas line has been repaired after prompting the evacuation of the College Creek Apartments construction site near the intersections of Harpst Street and L.K. Wood Boulevard. No injuries were reported and no other areas were evacuated.

Arcata – Humboldt State University President Rollin Richmond has exerted effective leadership despite “diminishing resources and general resistance to change,” according to a formal six-year review of Richmond’s tenure by the CSU Chancellor’s Office, the CSU Board of Trustees and an outside team of education experts.

Arcata – The California Center for Rural Policy at Humboldt State University will host a health data training workshop on Thursday, June 11, as part of the ongoing “Data and Democracy Train-the-Trainer Course” sponsored by the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research.

Arcata – Humboldt State University’s Schatz Energy Research Center will partner with the Redwood Coast Energy Authority and Pacific Gas & Electric Company in a $200,000 project financed by the California Energy Commission to conduct engineering and economic studies in support of homegrown renewable energy in Humboldt County.

Arcata - Humboldt State University President Rollin Richmond has reiterated his strong support for Provost Robert Snyder and his commitment to serving as the University's president. This follows a vote in favor of a no-confidence resolution by the General Faculty Association, which took place at a hastily called meeting Tuesday afternoon.

Arcata – Arcata police have arrested an 18-year-old Humboldt State University resident student, Phillip Tripp, and a 15-year-old Happy Camp resident in connection with the alleged stabbing early Sunday morning, May 10, of a 23-year-old HSU student in the vicinity of 11th Street and J Street off-campus downtown.

Arcata – The Humboldt State University Police Department is searching for two suspects in connection with the alleged on-campus groping of an 18-year-old female resident student early in the morning of Wednesday, May 6.
