Arcata – Humboldt State University’s Schatz Energy Research Center will partner with the Redwood Coast Energy Authority and Pacific Gas & Electric Company in a $200,000 project financed by the California Energy Commission to conduct engineering and economic studies in support of homegrown renewable energy in Humboldt County.

Arcata - Humboldt State University President Rollin Richmond has reiterated his strong support for Provost Robert Snyder and his commitment to serving as the University's president. This follows a vote in favor of a no-confidence resolution by the General Faculty Association, which took place at a hastily called meeting Tuesday afternoon.

A classical pianist known for her powerful performances and sensitive artistry, Deborah Clasquin, a Professor of Music and senior member of the keyboard faculty at Humboldt State University died in Arcata on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at age 52. Deborah remained sweet and energetic despite a furious battle against cancer diagnosed in October, 2007.
