Commencement Staff Parking Advisory

In order to avoid traffic delays, staff and faculty working at the commencement ceremonies on May 16 are encouraged to enter campus from the north end of Granite Ave. and park in the Jolly Giant Commons parking lot, near the residence hall complex.

Cleary Agrees to Extend Leadership of KHSU

Arcata – Patrick Cleary, interim general manager of Humboldt State University’s radio station, KHSU-FM, will continue in the post until the end of 2009 to complete the restructuring of the station’s business side, address the station’s technological and signal challenges and assist the newly appointed development director, David Reed, with his transition.

Student Charged with Assaulting Fellow Student

Arcata – Arcata police have arrested an 18-year-old Humboldt State University resident student, Phillip Tripp, and a 15-year-old Happy Camp resident in connection with the alleged stabbing early Sunday morning, May 10, of a 23-year-old HSU student in the vicinity of 11th Street and J Street off-campus downtown.

Snyder Named Provost at HSU

Arcata – Humboldt State University President Rollin Richmond has appointed Robert Snyder, interim Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost, to hold that position permanently, effective July 1.

Sexual Battery Reported on Campus

Arcata – The Humboldt State University Police Department is searching for two suspects in connection with the alleged on-campus groping of an 18-year-old female resident student early in the morning of Wednesday, May 6.

Harpst to Re-open for Graduation

Arcata – To ease campus access for finals week, end-of-semester departures and Commencement exercises, Humboldt State University will temporarily reopen Harpst Street for eastbound, one-way traffic from L.K. Wood Boulevard from Monday, May 11, through Sunday, May 17.

Deborah Clasquin 1957-2009

A classical pianist known for her powerful performances and sensitive artistry, Deborah Clasquin, a Professor of Music and senior member of the keyboard faculty at Humboldt State University died in Arcata on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at age 52. Deborah remained sweet and energetic despite a furious battle against cancer diagnosed in October, 2007.
