Water Restored After Short Outage

Water service on the Humboldt State University campus was restored at 7:30 a.m. today, following a short outage caused by an overturned fire hydrant.

Nagatsuka Assumes New HSU Research Post

Jacqueline Nagatsuka, a veteran of institutional research at both four-year and two-year institutions with a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from UCLA, is the new Director of Institutional Research and Planning at Humboldt State University, effective February 1.

UPD Nabs Campus Burglary Suspects

A 27-year-old Arcata man is in the Humboldt County Correctional Facility after Humboldt State University Police discovered him at the scene of an alleged burglary of HSU’s construction offices in the Schmidt House, near 17th and Union Streets on the main campus early Sunday morning, January 24. A second potential suspect is being evaluated.

CSU Employee Update for Dec. 2

A record 609,000 prospective students have applied for admission to the California State University, up 28 percent from last year. The largest increase came from community college transfer students whose applications increased 87 percent over last year with a total 195,113 applicants. First-time freshmen applications were up 12 percent with just over 412,000 submissions.
