This fall, Humboldt State wildlife professor Matt Johnson will be heading to Jamaica -- thanks to a National Geographic Society grant -- to study insect-eating birds on Jamaican coffee farms.

Four Humboldt State University graduates have won financial aid in the form of loans from the Chancellor's Office, enabling them to pursue doctorates in a variety of disciplines and compete for teaching positions in the 23-campus network of the California State University system.

On Wednesday, April 19, Humboldt County's Environmental Health Division recognized the waste reduction efforts of several local people and organizations, including both Humboldt State University President Rollin Richmond and the Campus Recycling Program's ROSE, by honoring them with Waste Reduction Awards.
