Byan Kelly is the new Associated Student President following a run-off election held April 27 and 28. Kelly received 59 percent of the ballots cast, or a total of 327 votes. Kelly is a senior majoring in Political Science.
Humboldt State University Cycling Club racer Traci Kroll earned a spot on the coveted winner's podium at the Collegiate Cycling National Road Race Championships in Madison, Wisc. this weekend. Kroll finished fifth in the National Championship Criterium, on Sunday. Incredible, considering this was Kroll's first time at National Championships.

California State University officials today laid out a budget contingency plan of action to address an "all cuts" budget that potentially could reduce state support for the CSU by $1 billion. Calling it a "scorched earth budget that would devastate the institution," CSU Chancellor Charles B. Reed told the board that such a drastic budget cut would have long-lasting consequences.

The CSU is continuing its efforts to educate legislators on the consequences of the current approved $500 million cut to its 2011-12 budget and the ramifications of deeper cuts.

The AM Jazz Band of HSU runs the jazz standard gamut from the tune that launched the Swing Era to a jazz fusion classic, in concert at the Fulkerson Recital Hall on Thursday, May 5.
