Humboldt State University has been named to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, With Distinction for Hurricane Relief Service. Nationwide, more than 500 colleges applied for the President's Honor Roll in its inaugural year, and Humboldt State was one of 141 colleges and universities honored for distinguished community service and Hurricane Katrina Relief.

The Football Gazette, a publication covering football since 1986, lists the Jacks No. 31 in this week’s top 40. The poll puts them ahead of 2006 opponents Central Washington (33rd) and Western Oregon (35th). Now the Jacks put their status to another test when they take back-to-back road trips for the first time this season. Humboldt State heads to Southern California for Saturday’s game against Azusa Pacific. Kick-off in Azusa is scheduled for 6 p.m.
