HSU Hosts 22nd Annual Serve-A-Thon March 31

Hundreds of Humboldt State students are expected to participate in the Y.E.S. House Serve-A-Thon from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 31 at Miranda’s Big and Small Animal Rescue in Fortuna.

The Spider and the Fly: Works by Gail Wight

Humboldt State University’s First Street Gallery presents, The Spider and the Fly, a collection of prints and mixed media drawings by artist Gail Wight on display April 1 to May 18. Currently a Professor of Art at Stanford University, Wight’s work has earned her national and international recognition in solo and group exhibitions.

HSU Opera Workshop’s Musical Discoveries

Audiences for this spring’s HSU Opera Workshop concerts on March 28 and 29 will be among the first to experience recently rediscovered music from Portugal, including excerpts from a satirical opera never before heard on the West Coast.

Coral Sea's Uncovered History Reveals High Seas Adventures

During its 40-year existence, Humboldt State’s marine research vessel, the Coral Sea, has seen its share of adventures. It’s been held captive in a foreign port, served as the headquarters for drug smugglers and brought back sunken treasure from the Bahamas. For a while, it was also the home of Mac, the Diving Dog.
