Book of the Year Author to Read Selections from "Fup" at HSU/CR

College of the Redwoods and Humboldt State University’s 2013/14 Book of the Year author Jim Dodge will read selections from his novel _Fup_ twice in November. Dodge will read first at HSU on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Goodwin Forum. And at CR, he will read in the New Theater on Friday, Nov. 15 at 10:00 a.m. A book signing will follow both readings which are free and open to the public.

Poet and hip hop artist Tim’m West headlines the 15th annual Campus Dialogue on Race with his keynote address, “Deconstructing Dis/ease: The Body as a politicized site for healing self and community,” on Monday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. in the Gist Hall Theatre.

REVISIT: Art by Former Faculty at the Reese Bullen Gallery

The Reese Bullen Gallery celebrates Humboldt State University’s Centennial, with the final exhibit of a three-part art faculty exhibition series. _REVISIT: Art by Former Faculty_ highlights artwork from faculty that began teaching at HSU in the late 1960's through the early 1990's. The exhibit runs from November 1 through November 21, with an opening reception on Friday, November 1, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend this free event.

HSU Student-Led Panel Weighs Degree vs. Debt

CSU Reaches Tentative Agreement with UAW on Multi-Year Successor Contract

_The following was provided by the California State University's Chancellor's Office._ The California State University has reached a tentative agreement with the United Auto Workers (UAW) on a three-year successor collective bargaining agreement. The UAW represents nearly 7,700 student employees who serve as Teaching Associates, Graduate Assistants or Instructional Student Assistants throughout the CSU. The agreement will be taken to the CSU Board of Trustees for final approval at their November meeting and marks the first time since 2007 that CSU has negotiated a multi-year salary deal with one of its unions.
