Humboldt State University’s Children Center has received a four-year $168,040 grant from the U.S. Department of Education to support campus-based childcare services for low-income students.

Rollin Richmond, who has served as President at Humboldt State University for nearly 12 years, has decided to retire at the end of the 2013-14 academic year.

The Humboldt Bay Brass Band, the brass ensemble led by Humboldt State Music Professor Gil Cline that employs British instrumentation, will perform in the guise of the “Humboldt Bay Bugle Mob” in the university’s Centennial Parade on Friday, Sept. 27, departing from the campus at 4:15 p.m. via Harpst Street to the Arcata Plaza.
