Humboldt State University Recreation Administration students, in partnership with the cities of Arcata and Eureka, will host two Halloween carnivals for children Oct. 31. The events will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Arcata Community Center and the Adorni Center in Eureka.

The Indigenous Arts Coalition from the San Francisco Bay Area, an evolving group of culturally and artistically diverse artists identifying as indigenous, are featured at Humboldt State University’s Goudi’ni Gallery in _Artists from The Indigenous Arts Coalition present: “post contemporary,”_ November 8 through December 5. The exhibit opens with a reception for the artists from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 8. The public is invited to attend this free, public event.

Humboldt Symphony performs the climactic movements of Stravinsky’s famous Firebird Suite and other selections in its first concert of the school year Nov. 2 in Fulkerson Recital Hall.

HSU staff and students will soon find it easier to enroll in California’s CalFresh program thanks to a $45,000 contract awarded to Humboldt State’s Department of Social Work.

Poet and hip hop artist Tim’m West headlines the 15th annual Campus Dialogue on Race with his keynote address, “Deconstructing Dis/ease: The Body as a politicized site for healing self and community,” on Monday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. in the Gist Hall Theatre.

The Reese Bullen Gallery celebrates Humboldt State University’s Centennial, with the final exhibit of a three-part art faculty exhibition series. _REVISIT: Art by Former Faculty_ highlights artwork from faculty that began teaching at HSU in the late 1960's through the early 1990's. The impact of rising student loans on the lifetime economic value of a college degree will be examined by a student-led panel hosted by Humboldt State University economics majors on Thursday, October 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the Native American Forum (Room 162), opposite the Behavioral and Social Sciences Building.

The Children’s Center at Humboldt State University has issued this year’s new income eligibility scale for the federal Child and Adult Care Food Program, which is available without charge to all enrolled children at the centers located at Humboldt State University #1 Harpst St and #1695 10th Street.
