The annual Sustainable Speaker Series gets underway with Adam Browning presenting "Solar Market Development in the US: Theory, Practice, and Prognostications" on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 5:30 p.m. in Science B Room 135.

Nominated for consistent dedication to his or her job, efforts to enhance campus image, problem solving and handling of tough job assignments, those chosen receive a cash award generated through private funds contributed by alumni and other friends of the university.

Humboldt State University will soon offer a full General Education program online, making it the first campus in the California State University system to offer a complete package of online GE courses.

Prospective students submitted more than 760,000 undergraduate applications to California State University campuses for admission in fall 2014—the largest number of applications ever received by the 23-campus system and an increase of two percent over the previous year. The number of unique students submitting applications approached 284,000—an increase of nearly ten percent from two years ago. Five campuses—Fullerton, Long Beach, Northridge, San Diego, and San Luis Obispo—each received in excess of 50,000 applications for admission.

Humboldt State University’s Humboldt Institute for Interdisciplinary Marijuana Research (HIIMR) will start its spring semester speaker series Feb. 4 with a presentation on urban baby boomer attitudes and consumption patterns regarding cannabis.

He was also involved with the Newman Center, which serves many HSU students.

In the midst of finals week, Humboldt State students got a rare treat: a visit from Milo and Tuula, two Golden Retriever pups specially trained to help students unwind.
