Wildlife Team Wins 25th Quiz Bowl

Humboldt State University's student Wildlife Team captured its 25th title in the Western Regional Quiz Bowl at the University of Wyoming, Laramie, in mid-March.

Nature-Morphic: Works by Annabeth Rosen

Humboldt State University First Street Gallery is pleased to present, Nature-Morphic, a solo exhibition by the artist Annabeth Rosen, April 6th through May 19th. The exhibition will feature recent works on paper and nine ceramic sculptures that Rosen has prepared for this exhibition. As the title of this exhibition suggests, Annabeth Rosen takes for her subject, morphologies, shapes, drawn from nature, while considered and reinterpreted under her poetic eye.

Math Expert Probes Limits of the Universe

Award-winning mathematician Abigail Thompson of UC Davis will deliver a presentation on three-dimensional universes at the next Kieval Lecture, to be hosted by the Department of Mathematics at Humboldt State University on Thursday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 135 of the Science B building.

HSU Reschedules Admissions Public Hearing

Humboldt State University has rescheduled a public hearing to gather comments on a plan to adopt more selective admissions requirements in some high-demand academic programs. The hearing’s new date is Thursday, March 7 from 3 to 4 p.m., at College of the Redwoods Eureka Campus, Student Services Building 109. The hearing was rescheduled to accommodate previously planned high school closures.

Schatz Lab Part of $1.75 Million Clean Energy Project

The Redwood Coast Energy Authority in Eureka is the proposed recipient of $1.75 million in state funding for a community-scale renewable energy implementation project, in partnership with Humboldt State’s Schatz Energy Research Center (SERC).
