Health Care Expert Talks Patient Empowerment

e-Patient Dave is the keynote speaker at an Aligning Forces Humboldt community dinner to talk to patients about how partnering with physicians can lead to better care. The talk takes place Thursday, Jan. 24 at the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center in Eureka (921 Waterfront Drive). Dinner will be served at 5pm. The event is free and requires an RSVP.

Brown’s 2013-14 proposed budget released this week seeks $125.1 million in new state funding for the CSU, and also reinstates the $125 million that was cut from last year's budget and was due to be reimbursed with voters’ approval of Proposition 30.

_The following was provided by the California State University Chancellor's Office._ Governor Brown today released his 2013-2014 state budget proposal that signals a renewed investment in higher education with the addition of $125.1 million in state funding for the California State University. The Governor's budget also reinstates $125 million that was cut from last year's budget and was due to be reimbursed in this year's budget following the successful passage of Proposition 30.

Record Number of Applicants for Fall ‘13

More students than ever are hoping to pursue their degrees at Humboldt State University. During the last two months, more than 13,000 prospects applied for the fall 2013 semester, HSU’s busiest application season to date.
