Eric Riggs Announced as Dean of College of Natural Resources & Sciences

Dear Colleagues, I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Eric Riggs, Professor of Geoscience Education at Texas A&M University, will serve as Humboldt State University’s next Dean for the College of Natural Resources & Sciences (CNRS). Dr. Riggs’ appointment is effective July 15, 2021.

HSU Sustainability Champions Announced

The fifth annual Sustainability Champion Awards program honors HSU employees whose practices have deepened a culture of sustainability on campus, have furthered the integration of sustainability into academics or student life, or have reduced HSU’s environmental footprint.

HSU’s 2020-21 Distinguished Faculty Honored

Since 1964, Humboldt State has honored outstanding faculty and in 1986, the University added the Scholar of the Year Award. Nominations are reviewed by the Faculty Awards Committee. Recommendations for awards recipients are made to the University Senate and forwarded to the President of the University. The President affirms and announces the recipients to the campus community.

HSU Looking at Different Downtown Option for Bookstore

Humboldt State University is pursuing a new opportunity for a bookstore location in downtown Arcata. This option, which would involve a property purchase with non-state funds rather than a lease, could be finalized shortly.
